Bluesky Communications, the territory’s first private phone company established its business in American Samoa July 10, 1999. Since then, Bluesky has been committed to excellence, innovation, customer satisfaction, and its 25^th Anniversary marks a momentous journey of growth and success. To celebrate this remarkable milestone for the company, in partnership with the American Samoa Rowing Association, Bluesky hosted a Fautasi Race, a community-focused event to further cultivate village pride and give back to the community where they live and serve in.

Bluesky’s 25^th Anniversary Fautasi Race took place on Thursday, July 4^th, 2024 and brought together the different Fautasi Teams competing for the grand prize of $10,000, with consolation prizes for all the other teams.

After much deliberation and discussions by the Fautasi Committee Members and Captains, decisions were made and were not taken lightly, to ensure that all rules put forth ahead of time were transparent, understood and followed. The rules were enforced to determine a fair race for each village and their fautasi teams, the official placements were as follows:

1st Place: Manu’atele Matāsaua

2nd Place: PagoPago Aeto

3rd Place: Ili’ili Lupelele

4th Place: Fagatogo Iseula

According to overwhelming evidence, the remaining fautasis did not adhere to the rules of our starting line. However, each fautasi still gained to receive a consolation prize. Congratulations to our consolation prize winners:

Our heartfelt wishes and prayers are with Vatia Fuaō fautasi, as they were unable to race due to an unforseen accident the day prior to the race.
